Motorcycle Shipping FAQ
Everything you need to know about shipping your motorcycle. Can't find your answer? Contact us anytime.
What areas do you service?▼
We service all 48 contiguous US states with our Classic and Economy services. We also offer outbound shipping to Hawaii, Alaska, and Puerto Rico. International shipping to Canada is available in select areas.
How long will it take for my shipment to be delivered?▼
Total transport time averages 15 business days. Most shipments are picked up within 1-10 business days and delivered 5-10 days later. Some remote areas may take up to 10 business days for pickup. VIP Express service is available in select areas to expedite time-sensitive shipments.
How much does it cost to ship a motorcycle?▼
Motorcycle shipping costs average between $270 and $950 for standard-sized moves within the United States. The lower average applies to local service (within 100-mile range) and the higher average fits long-distance moves. Use our instant quote calculator for accurate pricing.
What is the difference between Classic and Economy service?▼
Classic service uses a dedicated shipping skid with our advanced protection system, offering faster transit times. Economy service secures bikes directly with soft straps at a reduced rate with longer transit times. Both use fully enclosed, air-ride trucks and include $7,000 valuation coverage.
Can you explain "tractor-trailer accessible"?▼
Our transport trucks are full-size 18-wheeled vehicles, approximately 80 feet long and 13 feet tall. Pick-up and delivery addresses should be accessible by these trucks. Dead-ends and cul-de-sacs are OK if there is room to turn around. If your location isn't truck-friendly, consider using one of our terminals.
Do your drivers note the condition of the vehicle?▼
Yes. The driver will document the condition of your motorcycle at both pickup and delivery. This creates an official record for reference.
Does someone need to be present when the drivers arrive?▼
Yes, a live person must be present to sign the documents at both pickup and delivery. A $250 attempt fee applies if no one is available when the driver arrives.
Will I receive a phone call before the driver arrives?▼
Yes. You will receive a call approximately 1 business day prior to the driver's arrival with an approximate 5-hour window for pickup or delivery.
Can I pick a specific time and day?▼
Specific scheduling is possible with our VIP Express service, though additional fees may apply. Standard service provides a date range rather than an exact date.
Do you have terminals I can use?▼
Yes! We have approximately 44 terminal locations across the US, available for Classic service at no extra charge. You'll need your contract number and must provide 2 business days advance notice.
How do I prepare my motorcycle for transport?▼
Remove the key from the ignition, unlock the steering so the bike rolls freely, inflate tires if low, remove personal belongings, and disable any alarms. You do NOT need to drain fuel or do any mechanical preparation. Our drivers handle all loading.
Can I send my helmet and jacket with the motorcycle?▼
Personal items are not covered by our valuation coverage. We recommend shipping helmets, jackets, and other gear separately via FedEx or UPS.
Can the drivers handle a money exchange for me?▼
No. Our drivers are not authorized to handle money exchanges for motorcycle purchases. We recommend using PayPal or Escrow.com for secure transactions.
Do you offer dealer discounts?▼
Yes. Dealerships and manufacturers can register for volume discounts and custom pricing programs. Visit our Dealer Shipping page for more information.
Are there any size restrictions?▼
Standard motorcycles: 108" long x 48" wide. Trikes/Slingshots: max 58" tall. UTVs: 170" long x 70" wide x 76" tall. Mountain bikes: 90" long x 30" wide x 44" tall, max 175 lbs.
How does your tracking system work?▼
Our tracking system shows updates at the last check-in point by the truck. It is not real-time GPS. Shipments routinely stop at secure locations awaiting transfer. These stops are factored into the delivery timeline provided with your order.
What are beyond fees?▼
Beyond fees apply to zip codes outside normal shipping lanes. You can avoid them by using alternate zip codes near major cities or airports, or by using one of our terminal locations.
